Let’s Have a Spa Day!

Hello all! I know I didn’t post anything last week, so as an apology I am going to be bringing you 5 DIY Home Spa Items that you can make at home, for yourself or for a gift! My idea derived from my friend over at Stitching Yarns is moving and since her realtor went above and beyond the call of duty to get her and her family in their new home she made her a nice little crochet spa set. This got me to thinking about all the awesome spa items you can make at home, that in the end will save you a lot of money at the store or those boutiques in the mall! So lets hope on in to number 1 on the list!

Do you just LOVE the smell of oranges? I know I do and with summer right around the corner here in the middle of nowhere, I’ve been looking for a lot of awesome summery smells! Oranges is one of my favorite, and not just because they are tasty! If you go over here to The Suburban Mom you will find this lovely recipe to make a lovely smelling Orange sugar scrub and even to make some bath salts as well! These make the perfect gifts for friends and family, or as she shows your kids teacher!

What is a spa day without a face mask am I right? I found this lovely face mask awhile ago actually. I have also tried it! and it is very nice, I actually have a real problem with dry skin on my face during the winter months. So anything that I can get my hands on that will help moisturize my skin is high up on my list! This is a nice little thing you can make real quick and you don’t have to try and find a way to store it!

Next up is something I hadn’t heard of until this year actually. I have a friend who started selling Perfectly Posh recently and she posted on her Facebook about this awesome Lip Scrub she tried. I didn’t actually get to try one until just a few months ago when I went to the Women’s Fair here in Kansas with some friends and there was a Perfectly Posh seller there who was letting people try things out. I have to say it is pretty awesome. So I’ve been on the look out for a cheaper way to get my hands on a lip scrub, I found this lovely little recipe that I can’t wait to try!

Which brings me to our next DIY home spa item you can make, ok so I lied its not really a spa item but hey! after you exfoliate those lips of yours you are going to want to put a little bit of balm on them to help keep that amazing softness going right? I have found so many lip balm recipes its insane! I never knew that making your own was a thing, and honestly with as much as I use lip balm, it is going to be way cheaper for me to just make it myself in the long run! My favorite one though I’ve found so far is this one over at Happiness is Homemade its very nice to have and is great for your lips!

Last but not least, Body butter! I have used many many body butters in my time. As someone who suffers from dry skin, body butters seem to be the best way to keep it at bay. I always joke that after my showers I take a second bath but in lotion. So I’ve been looking into making my own body butter. I found this one over at Embracing Destiny and can’t wait to try it personally. I also love the smell of lavender in my beauty products almost as much as the smell of citrus!

The take away from this? There are so many different types of at DIY spa items that you can make it would have made this post HUGE. If you are looking into making your own items, either for yourself or for friends, all you have to do is a small google search. I hope you enjoyed this post, and if you will excuse me I’m going to go make my own home spa items.
